I am a specialist employment barrister with over 20 years’ experience as a lawyer. I have worked at top national law firms such as Buddle Findlay and most recently as a Partner at Anthony Harper, leading the national employment team in Auckland and Christchurch.
I practised in the UK for many years as in-house counsel for Birmingham City Council and, in my time there, worked closely with many of the top employment barristers in the UK.
I was very proud to be recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ in the 2020 Legal 500 Asia Pacific Guide and I am regularly asked to present at New Zealand Law Society and specialist HR conferences throughout the country.
I enjoy being a trusted advisor to many international and national businesses, partnering with them to resolve their employment law issues from the start of an employment relationship through to the end.
While mainly acting for employers, on occasion I act for employees and have particular expertise in senior executive employment issues.
I am known for my strong dispute resolution skills through adopting a professional and pragmatic approach to resolving employment issues.
